Frequently Asked Questions
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness, treating each person as an individual. The foundations of naturopathy are based on the importance of a healthy diet, sunlight, exercise and stress management. Back to Earth Naturopathy aims to educate you to look after your own health, minimising symptoms of illness, supporting your body’s capacity to heal, and balancing your body so that illness is less likely to occur in the future.
How does Back to Earth Naturopathy link to your GP and Specialists?
Kate is passionate about ensuring that Naturopathy is a complimentary and main-stream health-care option. Kate is keen to work with your GP and Specialists to ensure that ALL of YOU is looked after using each profession’s expertise. Kate will research all of your background and aims to connect all your dots to address you as a whole person. Where appropriate, Kate will absolutely refer you to a GP or other modality (ie. psychologist, exercise physiologists, physiotherapist). Together we can do better.
What assessments are conducted at Back to Earth Naturopathy?
Kate will spend significant amounts of time to find out about your diet, lifestyle, family background and environment, as well as the history of any illnesses or complaints. Physical assessments that can be performed include: Blood Pressure; Weight and Body Measurements; Urine Analysis; Blood Analysis; Iridology; Skin, Tongue and Nail Assessments.
Is Back to Earth Naturopathy a home-based clinic?
Yes, for two main reasons Kate has elected to operate from a home-based office.
How much does each appointment cost?
Initial consultations are currently $110. Prior to your consultation, you will be sent a ‘Client Intake form’ and significant prior research into your case will be conducted. Initial appointments take around 90 minutes after which you will be provided with a complete and thorough treatment plan detailing any supplementary protocols, diet advice and lifestyle recommendations.
Subsequent consultations are currently $70 for 30-45 minutes and once again include prior research and a full personalised treatment plan for you!
With a huge emphasis on keeping health affordable, Kate has a focus on letting ‘food be thy medicine’, with easily sourced wholesome foods advised where appropriate and she will not push for you to purchase unnecessary supplements.
How many appointments will I need?
This is completely up to you and will depend on your health concerns. Generally speaking, clients often find that 3 to 4 appointments over 2-3 months is sufficient to address their concerns. Remember Kate always aims to be affordable and fair, such that huge amounts of information are provided at each consult and she will not push for you to have additional, unnecessary appointments.
Does Back to Earth Naturopathy have a dispensary?
Yes, a liquid herbal dispensary is held on-site, allowing for tailored formulations to be made during your consult. In addition, some mineral and nutritional supplements are at hand. For anything else recommended, Kate has many supplier accounts that deliver within a couple of days. Please note that as Kate is a Qualified Practitioner, she is able to provide some premium supplements that are ‘Practitioner Only’ and therefore not able to be purchased through local chemists or health food stores.
Is Function Pathology testing available through Back to Earth Naturopathy?
Kate is trained in Functional Pathology testing and believes that this can give highly beneficial information for some clients. Kate has two pathology accounts that can assess areas including gut/digestion; allergies; hormone profiles, etc. If this testing is recommended or sought, Kate will ensure that the best test for your condition is found. Note, that as these tests are expensive (Kate takes no commission), Kate will only suggest testing if it is generally believed that it will be highly valuable and save significant amounts of time in ‘trial and error’ type protocols (ie. restrictive diets).
What are the benefits of Kate Rowe being an accredited practitioner?
Kate Rowe is a member of the Complimentary Medicine Association (CMA). This has many benefits including that this ensures that Kate has met many stringent requirements and must abide by a set of standards of practice and code of ethics. This includes that Kate must undertake continuing education to ensure that her knowledge is up to date (a passion of Kate’s anyway); Professional Indemnity insurance is mandatory, as is a Working with Children licence and First Aid. In addition, the supplements that Kate can prescribe are premium 'Practitioner Only' brands that are of the highest quality and effectiveness.

Is Back to Earth Naturopathy a home-based clinic?
Yes, for two main reasons Kate has elected to operate from a home-based office.
- Kate understands busy people and wants to ensure that appointments can be made at convenient times to you, including being able to offer weeknight after-hours appointments
